LATEST RACE NEWS

      Sandia Classic / Albuquerque, NM.

We  attended the Sandia Classic in New Mexico this past week-end. The racing was good through out the night, except for a dust problem. Kelly and Jim Wood each won their heat races and lined up side by side for the main event. Shaun missed his set up for the heat and had to take a back row start. Kelly stayed out front for 11 or 12 laps, before Jim Wood, carrying more speed into corner 1 made a pass. A J Eslick moved past Kelly the next lap, but then Kelly made an inside pass back on A J, running him a bit wide. Kelly regained 2nd, but had to fight off A J right to the checkered flag. Shaun in the mean time was moving up in the field. He moved to 5th place just behind Alex Wood, but could not muster enough speed to pass. Shaun finished 5th. He also finished 5th in the Mad Dog Race. Below are a few pictures from race. The final finish order was; 1st - Jim Wood / 2nd - Kelly Larkin / 3rd - A J Eslick / 4th - Alex Wood / 5th - Shaun Larkin / 6th - Jeff Bostic / 7th - Randy Belisle / 8th - Joey Raborn / 9th - Scoot Lee / 10th - David Huckabee



 Although we did some good while racing in Aug. At Billings, Sturgis, Oberlin and Stockton , We pretty much got smoked at the 1/2 miles. It's amazing how much faster some of the top ranked guys 450's are. Hmmm.

Shaun Larkin 17g  was once again invited to the XIIR - The Extreme International Ice Raceing
series. Held in Prescott Valley. This was the 2nd year that this race series was promoted there. a couple of the racers had never raced on ICE before, but still put on a really good show for the fans.
I do not have the results for the Quads or the Speedway Bikes sorry.

Racing at AZ. Speed World was close and fast all three days. This picture tell the story;
Arizona's  Shaun Larkin &  California's & Jim Rosa waged a war for two days in the OPEN PRO Class. Rosa beat Larkin to the flag  winning On Sat;  & then Larkin returned the favor and took the flag on Sun. A total of 6 PRO's from California came to the races here at AZ. Speed World. They all really put on a fantastic show for the crowd. The race track was in great racing shape, due to the hard work and efforts of Jo Torres and Steve Flitman. The Managers and operators of the track.

We finally received some pictures from Pete Page of Colorado Springs from the 2007/ 2008  Ice Race series, held at Rainbow Falls, just north of Woodland Park, Colo. . We do not have a complete list of the racers. Kelly Larkin finished in 2nd place, just ahead of Davey Durelle   to wind up win ning the Series Championship Pro Studded class. These  races have been an attraction for winter ICE racers for several years. They are promoted by "HARRY ROMERS RACE CLUB.
